The Organic Content Standard (OCS) is a voluntary global standard managed by Textile Exchange. It verifies the presence and amount of certified organic material in a final product — tracking organic textile inputs from the source farm through the supply chain to the final product.
OCS vs GOTS — What's the difference?
While GOTS certifies both the organic content and the entire processing chain (including restricted chemicals, social compliance), OCS focuses purely on verifying and tracing certified organic input content. OCS is ideal for products where proof of organic fibre percentage is the primary requirement, without the full processing-stage requirements of GOTS.
OCS 100 and OCS Blended
OCS operates two tiers: OCS 100 requires at least 95% certified organic content, while OCS Blended requires between 5-99% organic content. Both tiers require Transaction Certificates (TCs) at each supply chain step to ensure traceability.
