The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions.
Who manages GRS?
GRS is managed by Textile Exchange, a global non-profit organisation that works to accelerate sustainable practices in the textile industry.
What materials does it cover?
GRS covers recycled content from any source — post-consumer and pre-consumer waste. This includes recycled cotton, recycled polyester (rPET from PET bottles), recycled nylon, and more. A minimum of 20% recycled content is required to use the GRS label.
